Get To Know The Staff

IMG_5942  Anthony Grandy has been teaching at the Triangle Program for 11 years, and is a crucial part to the Triangle community. Facilitating Independent Study, as well as teaching Sciences and Mathematics, Anthony educates Arts, Computer Sciences  and Lego Robotics.

What is your favourite part about teaching at Triangle?                                   I laugh everyday when I come to school, it doesn’t feel like a job.

If you had to be one colour of the rainbow, what would you be and why?Black, because it look good on me! I absorb all the colours of the rainbow

Favourite Transformer?                                                                       Normally I don’t like to choose favourites; but I like SoundWave

What’s the difference between you and a bear?                                  Nothing.

IMG_5941   Jeffrey White has been teaching at the Triangle Program for 14 years and volunteered for two years prior. Teaching Civics, Careers, Social Sciences, English, and facilitating Independent Study, Jeffrey brings experience and wisdom to the Triangle community

What is your favourite part about teaching at Triangle?                                To be able to support students; so they don’t have to go through what I went through in high school.

If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Igby Goes Down

What is the best experience you’ve had at Triangle?                                       I would have to say, watching the graduation video last year, made by a student; that was very powerful.

Lady Gaga or Beyonce?                                                                             This is the hardest question you’ve asked me! I’m going to have to go with Gaga

 

IMG_5953 Ilana David has been a social worker at the Triangle Program for 5 years. She provides support for all of the students that request, with school-time sessions and easy accessibility. Ilana provides resources for the students outside of education, and helps create a special environment for Triangle.

What is the best part about working with the Triangle youth?                 Everyone has their own unique story, yet I’m continually amazed by how folks come together to create such a positive community.

Let’s say your friend is a really bad singer, would you tell them? Or let them live in the bliss of naivety?                                                               Yes, I would tell them.  But I’d also belt out our favourite songs together.

What is your favourite snack that includes cheese?                         Remember those individually packaged cheese and crackers with the little red sticks for spreading the cheese?  I know there is probably nothing resembling actual cheese in there, but I love those!

Do you have any hidden talents?                                                             Well, juggling used to be the most interesting, but the secret is out…
